Luck! Sometimes I think it is better to be lucky than good. But what is luck? Sometimes luck isn’t luck at all. Sometimes it is the result of having a plan, a vision. It is the result of spicing up that plan with knowledge and experience. It is a result of being flexible and adapting [...] I must begin by admitting that I have been remiss in keeping my website and blog up to date these last two weeks or so. A lot of my spare time was devoted to developing and refining my “Making the Ordinary Extraordinary: Great Images from Your Own Backyard” presentation which I gave last evening to [...] In my last blog post, I mentioned that I was heading out for a weekend HDR photography workshop with Tony Sweet. I purposely selected this workshop for two main reasons. First, I greatly admire Tony and his body of work. And second while I do quite a bit of HDR photography, the subject matter revolving [...] There’s a saying that goes something like “If God hands you lemons, make lemonade.” And of course there is the Jimmy Buffett/Parrothead corollary – “If God hands you limes, make Margaritas!” This story below is an example of making lemonade from lemons… or, if you prefer, Margaritas from limes. I have been sick since Thursday and with the snowstorm on Saturday, I haven’t gotten out to shoot at all. So I may have to pull from the archives for something to post to the blog this week. After getting home and processing the image, I found that I wasn’t really pleased with what I had. There was, believe it or not, too much blue.
