Anyone who follows this blog and/or visits my website knows I do my share of HDR photography. I find it very helpful when I have a combination of very bright highlights and very dark shadows in the same composition. When that happens we can expose for the highlights in which case the shadows will be [...] Tack sharp! How often have we heard those words used to describe an image? And how much have we wanted to hear those words used to describe our images? We post an image and someone comments that the image is “tack sharp” and a sudden glow comes over us. But those of you who know [...] After spending a couple of early morning hours photographing the vibrant colors of the Graffiti Underground, our workshop groups headed over to Eastern State Penitentiary where we would spend the rest of the day. The penitentiary itself has been closed since 1971 and in many areas there are now nearly 40 years worth of dust, [...] In amongst all the sunrises, sunsets, flowers and such, it is fun to capture an occasional image that just tickles your funny bone. This is one such image. I’ve entitled it “B.C. (Before Cellular): The Phone That Time and Verizon Forgot”. This first sunset image is one that I had been thinking about all week. I knew what I wanted to do or at least try.
